Meet the Owners
Christopher McLoughlin
Director, Bilgoman Property Pty Ltd

Chris grew up in Darlington in the Perth hills. The Post Office has always been a place of personal interest, and he recalls many visits during its time as the Poste Café.
He is a descendant of the Moulton family, one of Guildford’s original merchant families, and of the Forrest family. Sir John Forrest, Western Australia’s first Premier, played a role in the addition of the Post Office clock tower in 1901.
Chris is a former pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force. In his post-service career, he has run and invested in a number of businesses, including in the hospitality industry.
Elliott Chipper
Director, Bilgoman Property Pty Ltd

Elliott spent his childhood and attended school in the Perth hills suburbs of Lesmurdie and Glen Forrest.
For six generations his family has been connected to this part of Western Australia, dating back to the Swan River Colony in 1829. He is a direct descendant of John Chipper, namesake of 'Chipper's Leap' on Greenmount Hill, east of Guildford.
Elliott is a former journalist whose passion for hospitality, storytelling and history come together at the Guildford Post Office.
Leigh Doherty

Through his work with Colgan Industries, Leigh has supervised the restoration of many of Perth's significant heritage landmarks, including Government house, Fremantle prison, and the chapel of St Mary and St George in Guilford.
Leigh brings invaluable conservation knowledge and experience to this project.

Our Goal
Restore
Preserve the heritage fabric of the Guildford Post office building faithfully, respectfully, and for the long term.
Reactivate
Bring life back to the Post Office as Parcels. Once restoration works are completed, a new café, patisserie and licensed restaurant will serve the Guildford community, anchoring the Meadow Street heritage precinct.
Return
Deliver the Guildford community its original meeting place, so the Post Office can continue to proudly stand at the heart of this community for another 130 years.
